the belt is very well made and might well last several thousand kilometers, if you take it easy with the accelerations and don't try to set new speed record at every traffic light... I think the chance of finding another brand that fits correctly is very small. Don't go for any cheap solutions, you will regret it later.
Where did you find a belt for 220 Euro ? It is not that much (for our American fellows: 1 euro=1 US $). Imagine how much you would be paying if you must change the sprockets and buy a new chain every year !! Normally, the belt should last some 60 000 kilometers. Make sure the weels spinns correctly and the belt don't grind on anything, and get yourself a new belt next spring.
